Summer fun

Henry has wasted no time splashing around in his new water table that he got for his birthday from his cousin Greta! Loves it:) My arm was getting sore today holding a cup way up high and splashing it all over...again, and again, and again, and again. He thought getting splashed was hilarious....that is until he tripped and fell into the glass sliding door and got one nice goose egg on his little head, ouch:(

Happy Birthday to Henry.....again!

Henry's birthday bash was quite the par-tay! We lucked out with (semi) nice weather (minus the mist and wind I guess) and had a wonderful group of people over to our house. Thank you, thank you, thank you to everybody that made it, we had a blast! The MN Twins fans were in full force....weiners on the grill....a well manicured lawn.....I could have sworn we were at Target Field:)

Once again, the boy did not want anything to do with his cake. He loved the singing and applause, but no cake. This was the extent of his "1st birthday cake face." I know, terribly messy!

He did however have quite an interest in that keg!

Henry had so many nice friends that came to his party! He's such a lucky guy!

Poor baby was so exhausted (at 6:45pm of course) that he couldn't even open up all his nice presents that night. He was quite spunky the next morning (after 12 1/2 hours of sleep) and tore apart all his great gifts! Thank you!

Riley brought him his very own ATV. We got such a kick out of watching the little babes ride around:)

Cousin Greta decided that pushing that button to make it go wasn't much fun, so she asked Henry to push her instead....all the way down the driveway! The wind was blowing through his hair, he was getting stinky armpits, and his heart was a-racing after that!

Once again, we can't say Thank You enough to everyone for making it to the party! What a memorable day:)

Happy Father's Day

What a guy, that Henry, he got his pops a Father's Day present that the whole family can enjoy.....a bike trailer! We enjoyed our first ride today after a few tears over the helmet-wearing :( Does this thing look cushy or what?! He sure knew what he was doing when he picked this out for his Dad.

What an incredibly fun day the Krump Krew had yesterday for our sweet little baby Henry Thomas' 1st birthday!

This boy definitely was NOT his mother's son during birthday-cake-eating! Henry had absolutely no interest in the cake. He whined until he got his strawberries and blueberries instead. Check out that look of disgust on his face when staring at that delicious piece of cake sitting on his plate.

There's really no shortage of kisses for Henry around here!

For the afternoon, we headed down to Minneapolis and made a stop for some birthday ice cream at Sebastian Joe's! Once again, no interest in ice cream....who's kid is this?! Not even a taste of a homemade waffle cone would do it. Cheerios instead, please!

Brian and Lance invited us over to watch the Uptown Minneapolis Criterium bike race. We were able to stay and watch the women's race, they zoomed right down their street 30 times and Henry loved it! He was mesmerized by those bikes.

After a day of partying hard, here's what I saw 2 minutes into the car-ride home. He managed to stay up until 7:15pm last night, and then crashed hard!

Henry had one wild and crazy dinner tonight, as you can see :) He sure is his mama's boy, I couldn't scoop the baked beans onto his plate fast enough! The boy loves his baked beans!

This boy is growing! Our first package of Size 4 diapers arrived on our doorstep and of course, the box has been the best toy ever these past couple days - he has loved putting things in it (books and the remote control especially), then dumping them out, pushing it around (and around and around and around), lifting it up and carrying it around (not watching at all where he's going of course) and sitting in it and going for rides. It looked to me as if he was going to try to crawl up on top of it at one point as he had one foot up there and was thinking soooo hard how he could get the other one up there, but thank the Lord he gave up on that and moved onto something else. He has yet to start climbing on things - I know it's coming, but I'll be ok if he doesn't learn that trick for a little while longer:)

Henry wanted to show you all where his head is (it's the only way I could get him to smile by asking him) and he appears to be chowing on his chicken wing, yummy!

What's a boy to do when it's 102* outside today? What else....throw a pool party of course! Finley came over for a driveway-kiddie pool-sprinkler-good time! I filled the pool at 9am and it was nice and warm by 11am when it came time to swim. Can they get any cuter in their sunhats?

Finley, watch out! That water's gonna getchya! Trust me, it already got me and I cried :(

Beach party!

Henry made his first trip to the beach today! How could you not with a beach bod like his (wait, you can't even really see his bod with his sun hat, swim shirt, swim shants, and aqua-sox on, and yes he was sunscreened up under all that :) He had the same exact reaction to the sand as he did to the grass.....not a fan! Wouldn't walk in it, wouldn't really touch it, just kinda stood there and whined. After a few snacks on his beach towel, he warmed up to the sand/water idea a little bit :) Well, I guess if it's anything like his love for grass, he'll be trying to eat it in no time!

Is summer really here?

Mark the calendar......June 4th, 2011.....the first night we managed to break in our new deck (without needing to wear a winter coat, that is). What a beautiful day! Henry enjoyed lunch outside earlier. Let's hope we can do it all again tomorrow :)

Milk...it does a body good
