If you've seen Henry's wild (and quite often very sweaty) hair lately, you know that this first haircut was well overdue! Henry's Opa came over today, scissors and clippers in hand, to give him a little trim. Phil and his dad figured out that it wasn't the easiest task around to keep the little man sitting still for this :) All in all it looks great, thanks Opa!

1 year photos
Last weekend, Henry had his 1-year photos taken (and a few family pics were shot as well) by the talented Tami Tripp (this girl is good, good, good - I LOVE her photos). She posted a few pics on her blog of the handsome little man. Go check them out......

Also, I still love this picture on Tami's website that she took of Henry in the bucket when he was about 8 days old I believe...

.....oh, how fast this year has gone :)

older and wiser
Henry has now graduated from his summer semester of Library Baby Storytime. Once again, Jill, the sweetest librarian ever, ended the class today with a good 'ol bubble blowin' party. Henry was a fan of it!
Here's the crew of nice little boys we've met along the way....
Here's Ari in the gray, he's actually a neighbor of ours. I would think he would be a classmate of Henry's in the future, but Ari's a few months older, so we'll see.
Here's Kieran in the overalls and Will in the blue shirt.....and of course Jill. Last week, Henry could not get enough of Jill. He hugged her leg when we got there and then ran up and sat in her lap at one point :)
Strolling down memory lane here......bubble blowin' party at the library 3 or 4 months ago. There's Will again in the blue shirt.
Oh, what fun we've had! We'll be back in the fall, looking forward to it!

We're gonna win Twins, we're gonna score....
Henry made his first appearance at Target Field today to root for his beloved Minnesota Twins (and they did win I might add). Yes, I know, it was 100* outside today. Our goal was to make it through 3 innings and we did it! Our seats were in the shade (thank God) which definitely made it bearable for the little man (+ water to drink, + water over his head multiple times, + ice packs on his back). 3 innings = about 1 hour in baseball time. He actually sat in our laps for that 1 hour and wasn't squirmin' all over the place to get out and walk around, lots to see of course! Now, why can't he sit for 1 hour like he did today at the game when we go to church? :)
Excuse me, which way to Target Field please?
I swear he did have a good time! You'd never know it by these pictures :) Not one smile for the camera.
On a side note, he's never kept a baseball hat on for more than a few seconds....before today that is. For some reason, he chose today to start liking his baseball hat (how fitting). He actually left it on pretty much the whole time we were there, I was shocked!

picky eater
Looks like somebody did NOT want a turkey sandwich and pears for lunch yesterday! He was able to chuck every piece of food off his tray in a matter of seconds. I put him in his high chair, put his tray on, turned around to do something, and turned back around to this! Check out that mischievous look on his face:)

HOT, HOT, HOT!
What's hotter, the temperature outside or Henry in this muscle tee? Wow, give him a chance to let his guns breathe and all he wants to do is run wild! He must feel so free without sleeves!
We had the water table, the pool, and the beach ball all ready to go this afternoon to beat the heat:) All that water play makes a boy so hungry! Having a snack on dad's lap is the best, isn't it?!
P.S. Happy 13th month birthday today, little man! We love you!

Quiz time
I'm going to give you all a quiz. This is just like that game in the newspaper that asks you to pick out 7 differences between the two pictures, however I'm going to make this one much easier and only ask for 1 difference! What's missing in Picture B that's present in Picture A?
Picture A

If you answered this.....
.....you're correct! This beautiful bottle-drying fixture that has been a part of our kitchen countertop decor for the last year will now be put into storage (until next time, that is).
It was a little frightening at first to think about getting rid of all of Henry's bottles once he turned the big 0-1, however it has gone much better than I anticipated it to go. I think I really only had resistance (and by resistance I mean sad, sad, sad crocodile tears when I handed him a sippy cup of milk instead of a bottle) one day. My goal was to remove one bottle each week since his birthday, so this week is the first week that we have gone bottle-free!

Such a hard worker!
With all this rain and sunshine we've had lately, Henry has been extremely busy mowing the lawn. In fact, he's been out there mowing a little bit everyday for about a week! Since mommy's never mowed a lawn in her life, Henry figures he better learn at a young age how this works :)
First, one must check if he has gasoline. Probably not the best way to check, but nonetheless, he has gas!
Next, one must fill the mower with gas.
Next, one must start the mower. Henry likes to make sure that it started about 7 times over on this step because the pull-cord makes a wonderful noise to his ears that is extremely loud (thank you very much Peter and Kerry)!

Dear summer, is that you......
.....it's me, Henry!
Has summer officially arrived? We think so! Henry's been LOVIN' this playing outside business, so much that there's often tears when we have to come inside :(
We hit up Blaine's Blazin' 4th and boy was it ever blazin'!
Faster please, Grandpa!
Poor Lucy was just parched half way through our walk, but luckily Henry saved her a little room on his stroller so she could rest for the remainder of the walk:) He held her leash oh so tightly so she wouldn't fall off. So sweet of him to share, don't you think?
