Bring on the Holiday festivities!

So, we started out the Holiday season today with a trip to see Santa and his reindeer (I know, I know, it's not even Thanksgiving yet, but it was snowing today, so I think it's ok)!

1. We loved the reindeer.....

2. We loved the fire truck (and by the way, what good kids' event doesn't have a fire truck or police car).....

3. Unfortunately, we did NOT love sitting on Santa's lap this year :(
Poor baby is crying so hard that you can see his leftover Goldfish crackers in his teeth! He sure caught on fast when we were in that line.....the closer we got, the harder he was snuggling into me:)

Check out last year's encounter with Santa.....happy as a little lark!

Henry's (not so much) love for arts & crafts

Today, I thought Henry could do a few Thanksgiving art projects.....think again! His love of arts & crafts usually lasts about 30 seconds, if that, and then he's on to something else:)

Here we are with a red and a purple crayon, I believe.....so pretty on that turkey!

You'd think he'd be reaching in for another color here.....

.....but nope, this is usually how it ends.....how many crayons can I grab at one time, drop them on the floor, stick them in my mouth to bite off the tips, or all of the above!
Oh Henry, I'll keep trying!

Playing in Perham

Thanks to the Gillespie's for having us this weekend in Perham.
We had tons of fun as you can see below:)

Lots of pajama playing.....

.....and park playing!
Seriously, the park is closed?? I don't think so, let's bust in!

Please, just don't tell anybody we snuck in! Everybody thinks we're so sweet and innocent :)

Hey Greta, this is one sweet crib you have! Let's jump around :)

Before we headed home from Perham, we had to go out for some pizza from Zorbaz! Don't worry, these two babes did not partake in the $3 PBR special :) They did however manage to scarf down a record number of mandarin oranges I think!
Thanks for the fun weekend, Gillespie's! See you soon!

StoryTime

Henry had a play date with his buddy, Owen, this morning at Barnes & Noble for StoryTime. Mommy (the non-technology person that I am) had to work the Nook eReader for Henry that the first book was on, pretty cool!

Henry couldn't part with his books in the car and had to bring in a few of his favorites, just in case there weren't any books for him to look at in the bookstore, right :)

Flashback to about 6 months ago, wow, these boys sure have changed!

After StoryTime, we had to make a stop at the cafe for a snack (and a latte for the mommy's of course)! Henry, my little Mr. Helpful, wanted to share all his snacks with Owen, even trying to feed him here!

new skills

Henry's been lovin' showing off his new skill.....climbing (much to my dismay)! I knew it would happen eventually, and here it is, in full force. He'll climb on everything, and I do mean everything - I was washing my hands in the bathroom and he climbed right up onto the toilet, thank goodness the seat was down, huh!

Look at that big toe, gripping onto the couch as hard as it can grip.

Book in hand, of course. Gotta have something to do once we get up on the couch!

See what I mean.....everything! Is it time for this toy to go bye-bye for a while?

Today I caught him trying to play with this toy while he was on top of it. He was trying to flip the pages of the book as he knee was on it, man was that ever frustrating!

Happy Halloween!

We were blessed with another beautiful day outside today.....so bring on the candy!!

Don't worry kids, Henry inspected your candy with love. Don't worry parents, if you see teeth marks, they're just Henry's :)

The cheeseburger (yes, with a moose hat) headed out in the wagon when it was still light out to stop by a few neighbors' homes.

He certainly didn't want to leave his best pal, Lucy, behind!

Rohit, aka Thomas the Train and Diya, the lion

Our last stop of the night was at Henry's girlfriend, Finley's, house for a goodnight kiss from his little lion :)

Mr. Pumpkin is so sad now that Halloween is over :(
We hope everyone had a safe night!

halloween parties

We've had lots of Halloween parties to attend lately, and therefore many opportunities to dress up as a juicy cheeseburger!

A couple weeks ago, we were invited by a neighbor to her office's parking-lot-pumpkin-party. Seriously, tons of pumpkins lined the parking lot, and Henry picked out just the right one to bring home. They had a fire truck and police car there - shocking I know, Henry was a fan of the vehicles.
Let's hope this is the only time we're sitting in a police car!

Just checking the air pressure.....good to go!

One attempt to get a posed picture by the fall decorations.

This past Sunday, we went to Boo Zoo at Como Zoo. We didn't get to see too many real animals, as it was night-night time for them, but the zoo did have 200 volunteers dressed up in costumes of various animals. Henry definitely wanted to stick close by his dad, and was a little stingy with his high-five's for the "animals". Definitely no posing for a picture with any of them!

We met up with Kate, Anna, Ben, and Tommy at the end!

Today, all the kids in Henry's library group managed to kick up their heels with a costume party! All of the songs and rhymes and stories were all about Halloween. Lots of great costumes - a dog/cat/brother/sister combo, a couple cows, a monkey, and Henry's little girlfriend, Brinley aka Pebbles.
Here we have a good ol' parachute activity going on.

Here Henry's trying to give Brinley a hug, but she was having none of it, running towards her mama!

He did manage to sneak in some serious book-reading when Jill brought out all the toys at the end :)
Now that we've broke in the costume, looking forward to Halloween!
