A Day in the Life of an Elf

Henry and I made our trip downtown to meet Daddy for lunch and see Santaland at Macy's yesterday! We even checked out Santa, aka the big man himself.....no pictures though, couldn't get Henry to get close enough :)

Check it out everybody, it's December! He's coming, he's coming!

Henry insisted on trying to climb on every single display!
Security, we've got a climber over here.

After climbing up, one must be escorted off of course!

Cheese:)

Don't worry, Henry made sure Santa got his letters from all the boys and girls.

A rarity, a picture of the two of us!

Hey, I thought the big man was supposed to sit in this chair.....how did you get up there and where is Santa?

North Pole

This past Saturday, the Blaine City Hall hosted "A Morning at the North Pole" where the kiddos got to have breakfast, make a Christmas craft (I know, I know, not Henry's favorite.....but you'd be surprised how much his love, I mean like, for crafts has improved. He actually asks to color lately, however his coloring has been limited to sitting in his high chair up at the kitchen island due to the number of "accidental" crayon markings on our hard wood floors, followed by multiple "uh-oh's" from Henry), and of course Santa made an appearance!

If only Henry could read to know what line he was getting in, he probably wouldn't be this pumped to crawl up those steps :) Don't worry, we didn't have him sit on Santa's lap this time, but he did wave and give Santa a high five!

Santa handed him a candy cane and so here he is, candy cane still in it's plastic (why would one want to actually eat this sweet treat), waving bye-bye frantically with both hands to Santa. I'd say he was ok with Santa exiting the building, he had to go tend to his reindeer you know!

Here's the ornament Henry got to pick out at Macy's yesterday, he sure loves his fake Santa's!
We're big fans of Christmas festivities around here!

Sledding.....X-Games Style

Yesssss, fresh snow this morning! Time for some hard core sledding :)

Check out the angle of this hill, I'm really picking up speed.

Lovin' it!

Look Mama, no hands!
(and nobody pulling the sled either, first timer all on his own down our massive hill)

Just 10 short months ago, we went from this reaction to sledding.....

.....to this!

Good times in the Buffalo City

It was a balmy 55* outside for Thanksgiving in J-town, no jackets needed here! While we were patiently waiting for the turkey button-thingy to pop up, we headed up to the Buffalo for some good sightseeing.

Racing to see who could get there first:) Henry, of course, got a little wild with his running and ended up tumbling into the grass about 2 seconds after I snapped this picture.

Wow, I heard it was big but not THIS BIG!

Thank goodness I have Auntie Sonja here to protect me:)

Henry was a little shy at first when we got up close and personal with the Buffalo, but obviously he warmed right up in Grandma's arms.

We played on trains.....

.....swings.....

.....and old-school cars of some sort (the name of this is escaping me right now).

A good 'ol sister photo op, we haven't had one of these in ages!

+2 little beautiful babes :)

Riley, Riley, Riley

Lots of good times had by all this past Thanksgiving weekend in J-town :) It really was fun to see these two little munchkins play together so well!

Riley was obviously much more fond of coloring than our busy, little Henry. When we first brought this picnic table inside, I think Henry got on and off of it, crawled over the top of it, sat underneath it.....probably 100 times. Baby has bruised knees and everything!

Who doesn't love a good push toy?

Switch! We all know how much Henry loves pushing anything and everything.

This cash register was my mom's when she was a little girl, probably made in the 1940's or 50's. Hopefully Henry didn't break it :)

My first Happy Meal

"Happy" was an understatement. It should be called a "This is Flippin' Awesome" Meal from McDonald's! I was honestly quite surprised with his love for his Happy Meal yesterday in Alexandria on our way back from NoDak. Cheeseburger, fries, apple slices, milk, yummy! He also has a new love for ketchup too, even with apple slices, who knew that combination was so delicious :)
