Henry's first love

Henry just finished up another enjoyable session of StoryTime at our Johnsville library yesterday. He can only go to one more session this spring taught by his girlfriend, Jill the librarian, boo hoo :( This StoryTime group takes babies from 0-24 months old, then onto the toddler group we'll go!
It's like Henry already knows how to flirt with Jill. Some days he'll sit as close as he can to her and lean on her while she reads a real page-turner, some days he sneaks up to her and taps on the leg and then runs away, and then other days (like he did yesterday) he'll sprint up to her and give her leg a big 'ol bear hug.
Every Tuesday morning, I'll ask Henry "Do you know who we get to see today?" and he responds with "Gi" (which I know means Jill) and a big smile. If we go to the library on a non-StoryTime day and don't get to see Jill, he often leaves in tears :(
She really is a super-sweet person, thanks Jill!

Bowling with my Budija buddies

We met the Budija boys and their lovely parents in Eden Prairie at Brunswick for some good 'ol family fun bowling! Henry made his first appearance in bowling shoes today, check them out! I swear the last time I went bowling was probably in J-town where the shoes were half neon pink and half neon yellow. As you can see below, they've really classed them up since then.

The bumpers and ramps really are a beautiful thing for kids to bowl with. He and his buddy Jack were giving high-fives between every single frame, it was really cute!

When we weren't bowling, Henry would sprint off to this Jumpin' Jackpot game, so much fun I guess.

Here was my attempt at a group photo.....Jack and Henry bonding over a goldfish cracker, Joey was chillin' in the background.

All done, all done!

Let it snow

Finally, snow-man-making weather! Henry took advantage of this perfect snow we got last night, making his very first snowman today. It didn't last all that long, as he kept knocking the snowman's poor head off and saying "uh oh, uh oh" until I put it back on. Well, that led into him destroying every part of his body and then wanting me to re-build it over and over again. Here he is, eyes closed because he's smiling so hard, right next to his new friend :)

We had to take multiple rest breaks to admire the mail truck, and oh boy do we ever love that mail truck!

Now on to snow angels, doesn't he look like he's having the best time?!

Ohhhh, one last hug for my snowman before going inside for the day.

ohhhhh (insert hug here)

This little boy is just getting sweeter by the minute, seriously! Lately, he has to hug everything, and I do mean EVERYTHING, preceded by saying "ohhhh" with this look on his face where he wrinkles up his nose. It's the cutest :) Some examples of what he has to hug: Lucy (nonstop), his duck and alligator in the bathtub, yesterday at Target it was the container of honey (it's in the shape of a bear) and the container of oatmeal (there was a picture of a baby on it), his Lego blocks (the girl and kitty especially, but he doesn't discriminate against a good 'ol red block too), see what I mean, EVERYTHING!

Here he is (ohhhhh) hugging his lovely Greta, who came to visit her Oma & Opa this weekend.

Good times at the zoo!

Yes, he tried to hug this monkey (which can be quite difficult between a big glass wall), so therefore kisses for the monkey were in order.

P.S.
(on an extremely unrelated note, however we are still very interested in the campaign trail that's going on) Check out who my Grandpa Olin got to meet in J-town today, Dr. Ron Paul himself!

Happy Valentine's Day

We hope you all had a LOVE-ly day today!

Oma's cookies, delish!

My no-sweets baby might be getting a hint of a sweet-tooth, ate a whole cookie, probably only the 2nd cookie he's ever enjoyed in his life!

Once again, a heart-shaped pizza, but this year coupled with Valentine brownies, now this is my kinda romantic dinner :)

Good times in Waukesha

Thank you so much to Matthias and Kathryn for the superb hospitality this past weekend for our stay there! We saw the many sights of Waukesha and Milwaukee, all in one packed weekend.
Their townhome is four levels high and Henry loved the stairs of course, saying "up" on every step he climbed up and "down" on every step he went down. Here's the view looking down.

The Waukesha public library has it goin' on for the kiddos. I would absolutely love to have that library within walking distance of our house! So much fun to be had there.....as you can see.....

h is for henry

It was probably the coldest day of the year, so we couldn't resist stopping for some hot cocoas after the library!

What would a trip to Milwaukee be without stopping at Thriller Park, I mean Miller Park.

Henry was NOT a fan of the Bronze Fonz, not one bit! He got a few feet away from him and started saying "bubye, bubye" and waving pretty fast, almost with this look of disgust on his face. He couldn't get away from that Fonz fast enough.

After seeing some sights, we adults were getting a little thirsty, so we headed to an Irish pub for a happy hour drink. Henry sure didn't mind that it was Single's Night there, too bad he was in bed long before Single's Night even began :(

On Sunday morning after church, we went on a little walk just down the road to the fire station. Henry got to hear a few of the sirens over the weekend, and always wanted "more, more" firetrucks. The Waukesha firemen were too good to Henry, inviting him to sit in the firetruck (no thank you, however, too scared), turning on the lights for him, giving him his own fire chief hat and sticker-badge. Big smiles here, can't even keep his eyes open he's squinting so hard!

A little too big, we'll have to grow into this one.
Thank you again, Richter's, for the fun-filled weekend, delicious food, Wii dancing, and lovely company.....can't wait to do it again :)

Leonardo da Vinci??

My gal-pal, Lisa, was nice enough to whip up some homemade fingerpaint last week (courtesy of Pinterest, of course) and bring it over so Henry & baby Owen could work on their art skills, and boy what skills they have! Check them out.....

Type-A Mommy trying to show Henry how to gently place his hand in the paint and then put it nicely on the paper.....yeah right!

Who wants to put fingerpaint on the paper when you can rub it all over your legs and belly? Way more fun!

Um, Owen, I think you got a little fingerpaint on your leg right there.

Very beautiful artwork!

Yummm, cornstarch and food coloring doesn't taste half bad :)
.....and to the bathtub they both went!

.....and the trail continues

Here we are, the MN caucus is today, and Henry got the chance to hear what Rick Santorum had to say, as he made an appearance right in our backyard at the Blaine Sports Center this afternoon.

Henry's wondering when this Rick guy (or "ick" as he called him all day) was going to show up! This boy was definitely not as impressed with the pre-rally music as he was for the Mitt Romney rally last week. Instead, he climbed up and down the flight of stairs a bunch of times!

Here he is folks, "ick" himself!

And this right here is the reason why I didn't really get to hear all that much of what "ick" had to say. Henry must have visited this pig 50 times, saying "nk, nk, nk" and pulling on his nose (his own nose, not the pig's thank goodness). By far his favorite part of the rally! Apparently, Rick Santorum will stop the pork.

He's had enough, he's ready to go home, but first he thought he'd help clean up afterwards, my helpful little boy!

As I write this, "ick" is leading MN, we'll keep watching to see what happens.....

Ron Paul train

Choo-Choo!

I think it's safe to say that Phil & Henry are officially on the Ron Paul train!
(ok, so maybe this is a pic from the train that goes around Rosedale mall, but you get the point)

While Henry was looking forward to continue his quest to see all of the GOP presidential candidates, unfortunately we were all denied entrance to the Ron Paul Town Hall Meeting & Rally yesterday, boo hoo:( The auditorium was filled to the brim at Bethel College (1,500 people) by the time we arrived and apparently the fire department frowns upon cramming more people into a large room than it's supposed to seat.
Henry was so sad, he just wanted to grab some new yard signs and go home!

Henry's tidbits

I need to start writing down more things I'll giggle about when I look back at the blog someday......here's my attempt at doing that today.....

Apparently, pants are way over-rated around here lately. Seriously, the boy enjoys taking them off, and he's getting really fast at it too. The picture below is what I see every morning when I come into his room, pants off and onesie ripped apart. Why is it so hard to keep pants on all night (or during the day too for that matter)?

I do love busting him do cute things! Like when we were driving, I heard him making the noise he makes when he imitates how Lucy eats or drinks (accompanied by sticking his tongue out really fast) so I look in the mirror and he's feeding his stuffed puppy his milk.

He likes to tell Lucy "down" and then "good girl."

Henry's favs lately:
"I Spy" books, any big trucks (mail trucks, UPS trucks, cement mixers, buses, garbage trucks), running and climbing on EVERYTHING (the couch, his toys, the chair in front of the computer), anything outside (sledding when we have snow or barrel rolling down the hill when we don't), Uncle Tee-Tee, playing hockey in the basement (or running around with a hockey stick that is far too big for him)!

On the campaign trail

This Krump household has been quite interested in the 2012 GOP presidential race going on this year. Well, whaddayaknow, Mitt Romney himself made an appearance today at Freightmasters Inc in Eagan (after he was on the Today Show from FL and before he was heading to NV). Henry wanted to check it out and see what 'ol Mitt had to say, so we made the trek down there. We both had a really good time, of course Henry always loves anything that involves lots of clapping!

Here's my little Romney fan:) When I told him this morning that we were going to see Mitt, he couldn't stop saying "Mitt-Mitt" all day long.

We got to hear Norm Coleman, T-Paw (Tim Pawlenty), Mrs. T-Paw, Mrs. Mitt-Mitt, and the Mitt-Mitt himself speak. They were blasting the country music beforehand, so Henry was having his own little dance party with a couple other little girlies we were standing by!

We got oh so close to a high-five from Mitt, I'd say we were about 3 feet from him!

Alright, I guess he'd had enough Mitt-Mitt and was ready for a nap-nap. We'll keep watching to see what happens.
