Sledding

With our balmy weather we had yesterday (no, seriously, mid 30s felt especially balmy), we headed outside to test out Henry's new sled....the yard was a bit too deep, therefore we resorted to the sidewalk, just as fun for now!

Here's how the adventure began....notice the smile....

....and here's how it ended....no, those aren't tears of joy :(

Woah Dad, aren't we going a little too fast here? I can't even keep my legs down. Thank goodness for this trusty backrest I've got.

Ok, that's a little better, I'm feeling much more secure now. I better hold on. Man, some handlebars sure would be nice right about now.

All in all, a good time! We're just warming up the sled for Riley's visit in a couple weeks, then we're really going to get serious about this sledding stuff! Let's hope for nice weather.

Squash anyone?

The little man expanded his dinner menu last night with squash!
Nummy, nummy.
He was definitely more of a fan of it last night than tonight
(I had to mix oatmeal with it tonight and then he gobbled it right up).

Today, Phil said the end result was a little worse than milk:)

Licking off the remainder of the squash from the bib!

Seriously Dad, enough with the pictures, I'm shirtless and eating my squash.

He looks like such a big boy in this picture, sniffle sniffle :(

Merry Christmas - Part 2

We celebrated Christmas with the whole Krump Krew yesterday (the 26th). I remember last Christmas, having a quiet dinner around the formal dinner table, thinking ahead to this Christmas and how it would be just a little bit different with 2 babes cruising around. Boy was it ever fun!

Our little gingerbread family....you might notice that Philip is missing, and therefore we had a stand-in gingerbread dad.....well, Philip apparently couldn't wait for me to get a family photo, and chowed his down right away. They sure were delicious, thanks for baking them Sarah, Katie, and Greta:)

Henry and Greta were so kind to help each other open their gifts!

Henry's godfather, Bryan (the baseball coach), picked out this baseball game. Henry was already hitting homeruns out of the park (or living room) yesterday! I'm a little afraid that bat will be used for more than just hitting baseballs pretty soon.

Greta got this walker/rider from Santa
(Henry got one too from his Grandpa and Grandma Olin).

Thanks for the Radio Flyer Oma and Opa! Can't wait to use it this summer. Phil already installed the seatbelts in it last night, a must!

Henry's Old Papa taught him "high-fives" this weekend!

The whole Krump Krew:
Sarah, Philip, and Henry Krump; Bryan, Sarah, and Greta Gillespie; Kathryn Krump (soon to be an addition with Matthias Richter this summer); Oma and Opa Krump; Old Papa Krump.

Merry Christmas - Part 1......a

As I write this, Henry is tucked in his crib (which was lowered by his Dad and Grandpa K today after I busted him pulling himself up and over his bumper today during a nap) and sleeping oh so soundly after a super fun weekend, so many relatives to see!

Here are a few family photos from the Olin side with Henry.....

Henry with his Grandpa and Grandma Olin

Aunt Sonja...Henry always seem to have lipstick on his lips/cheeks after being with her, crazy how that happens!

Playing with Grandma

And finally, a shout out to the three filthy beasts (Mitzi, Teddy, and Lucy) in the mud room. They sure were watching intently as we ate our Christmas dinner!
Thanks for coming down from NoDak Grandma and Grandpa....love you!

More Krump Christmas photos to come.......

Merry Christmas - Part 1

"Chestnuts roasting on an open Samsung."
I do love the yule log on Channel 12 this time of year....very festive! Feel the warmth.
The Olin's (Grandma, Grandpa, and Sonja) are here with us this weekend. We all went to church yesterday, are hanging out in our pj's today, and are looking forward to a turkey dinner prepared by Grandma in a few hours.

Henry must have been an extremely good boy this year, with the load of presents he got to open this morning! It looked like a toy factory exploded in our living room!

Extremely focused on opening this one....

Merry Christmas!
....more to come as the fun filled holiday continues....

Let the baby-proofing begin!

Henry has been "training" soooo hard this week, as he wanted to give me his gift of crawling for Christmas. Little does he know this means we'll be shopping for a gate for the stairs and locks for a few cupboards this weekend! It's so cute, he really does breath hard and have to rest in his side-sit pose you'll see, but he keeps trucking along and is really getting better everyday. Oh those poor knees were sure bright red tonight!

Enjoy the video! Make sure you have your volume up.

Henry's top 5 toys this Christmas

Christmas isn't even here yet and Henry has his 5 favorite toys already. He's a man on the move. He's figured out this crawling business this week (video post coming soon) and he's starting to get into everything.
In no specific order, here are Henry T. Krump's top 5 toys.....

1. Wipes box...why is it that these things are so fascinating?

2. Tree skirt and/or any Christmas present with ribbon on it. I don't know how many times I've re-tied that ribbon.

3. Anything with a string on it. Today he undid the bow that was tied here, and then just layed on the floor and chewed (yes, I can say chewed now as he has 1 little tooth that has come through) on the end of the string....fun times. He's been trying to pull himself up on this toy box lately too, which reminds me we need to lower his crib this weekend!

4. Magazine rack. I don't blame him for this one, I mean who wouldn't want to catch up on Us Weekly? Henry seemed pretty sad about Scarlett Johanson and Ryan Reynolds splitting up too.

5. The best toy of the day.......door stopper! He truly was laughing out loud with this one, and we all know the silly sound these things make! What a cute little bugger. I just love him so much!

What has Henry been up to lately?

A. Trying like crazy to crawl
B. Jumping
C. Opening presents (yes, a little early)

Henry had his half birthday yesterday, December 17th, 2010, yippy! He'll have his doctor's appointment on Monday, then I'll update you with his 6 month stats.

A
He loves rocking back and forth on his hands and knees, and those poor knees are getting all roughed up.

Look at that cute diaper butt! Put Scout in front of him and that'll get him going.

B
Thanks for the exersaucer Finley, I do love to jump!

C
Yes, I had to fish some of this paper out of his mouth!

Sittin' on Santa's Lap

The Krump Krew headed to Macy's downtown to see Santaland and the Christmas display, A Day in the Life of an Elf. I had no idea how Henry would react to Santa. He stared at Santa for a while with a blank look on his face, and then smiled away for the camera flashes. Santa was wearing a belt and suspenders made of bells, Henry was a fan. All in all, we couldn't have asked for a better first Santa sighting!

Henry's list for Santa:
1. Toys, Toys, Toys
2. Hugs
3. Candy Canes
4. Lots of Love
Thanks for the new shirt Grandma Olin, Santa sure loved it!

Here he is.....SANTA!
Yes, I had to stop at Target on the way home to get this red frame for the picture!

No more bouncy chair

Apparently, the weight limit on the bouncy chair is 25 lbs. I would guess Henry to be about 17 lbs right now. He sure loved doing pull-ups on that bar while I was making dinner tonight! I'm thinking the bouncy chair is going into storage after today:(

Thank God this thing has a seatbelt. Henry, on the other hand thought the seatbelt was hindering his pull-up abilities as he couldn't quite get that chin up to the bar, and as we all know, it doesn't count unless you get your chin up to the bar:)

Loved it!
Look how his feet are hanging over the edge too. Bye bye bouncy chair:(

Uh Oh!

I can't take my eyes off him for a minute! Henry managed to wiggle himself over to the Christmas tree quite quickly this morning!

"Mmmmmm, if this soft white tree skirt tastes this fabulous, I can't imagine how awesome this green prickly thing will taste!"

Hard sleeper!

Henry has now slept through the night (6:30pm - 6:30am) 5 nights in the last week (but who's counting, right?) yes!! About a month ago, he all of a sudden starting sleeping on his stomach. Lately, he likes to sleep face down with his hands under his face. These are the poor little sleep marks I saw on his face when I got him out of his crib; his little hands were bright red too. Thank goodness they went away within minutes, but I had to try get a couple pictures. Now if only I could sleep through the night too!
